In a foggy wood a man approaches a dark spirit.
What lies ahead is a part of me that needs to be seen. Each of us has one. (Image by Kellepics on Pixabay)

Releasing darkness…
Shadow work is not for the faint of heart
I’m getting some ideas that
haven’t seen sunny skies
for many a moon.

I must embrace the black.
Resisting makes the pain increase and
the anger of the memory of the anger
demands infliction and chaos
which I can dispatch with the
vengeance of a hurricane
when any those songs play the remembrances.

That pain must release slowly
Or you will not know the Me that appears
to act upon the sense of betrayals
real and imagined
and rips out your tears
for the elixir of a retribution that
does not deserve its insufferable existence.

I know well that of which I am capable.
I know who of you could sense my darkness
and the temptation within;
perhaps you could guide me with
a knowledge I do not have.
